What happens after I sign up?
After you sign up and pay for your membership, you will receive a special thank you email from the kitchen skinny. From there, we will let you know the timeline for setting up your login and getting your first email. Your first weekly meal plan will be for the week of January 1, 2012, but during December you can get started on getting your fridge and cupboards prepared for the fun 2012 adventures ahead.
Why does it start on Dec. 29, 2011?
Because, seriously, how hard would it be to start a focus on healthy eating during the holidays? We want you to succeed and to enjoy this process, so we want you to enjoy your holidays. After you sign up, you will receive an email which will have instructions for you to create your login and password to www.thekitchenskinny.com.
Where’s the beef?
If you’re wondering whether our focus on plant-based foods means all Kitchen Skinny recipes will be vegetarian, the answer is no. We focus on plant-based foods because, let’s face it, we all know how to cook and eat meat. We’re experts in this country. In fact, Americans probably eat too much meat in general. What most of us haven’t learned is now to cook vegetables, grains and other good stuff. Getting exposure to recipes that incorporate more vegetables and healthy ingredients, while cutting down on meat intake is one of the unique benefits of this program. Most recipes will come with tips and modifications to fit your needs. If your goal is to lose weight, we will have modification tips (if needed). If your goal is improved heart health, we will have a modification or tip for that (if needed). If you are a meat-loving carnivore, we will have a modification for that as well. Why is it a 12-month program?
Eating healthy is not something you can just make happen overnight. Well, you can, but it’s not much fun. We have found that making small changes over time is a better long-term approach to changing your eating habits once and for all.
What if I have a large family or I am single, will this still work for me?
Most recipes will be based on a family of 4 and are easily adjusted up or down. We will provide tips for making the meal larger of smaller depending on your specific needs.
