Green Smoothie Recipe

The Daily Green Smoothie

stuff you will need:

  • 3 cups water
  • 1 scoop protein (try Sunwarrior vanilla or MRM veggie protein)
  • 1  banana (peeled)
  • 1 orange (peeled)
  • 1 small piece of pineapple
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 stalk of celery
  • 10-12 sprigs parsley
  • 10 or so dandelion greens
  • ⅔ cup broccoli
  • 1 leaf – red chard
  • 1 leaf – collard greens
  • 1 leaf – kale
  • 2-3 cups spinach
  • 1 small slice of ginger root
  • a few small mushrooms is great, too!
  • 2 cups ice

what to do with the stuff:

  • place all stuff  in your Vita-mix
  • turn on (blend until smooth)
  • put ice in at the end so it gets cold.

You will have to experiment with the amounts of liquid, ice and produce to get the consistency that you like from your blender.

This will make a full 64 oz. blender full. Pour it into two 32 oz Mason jars & stick in the fridge. They will taste great for a couple days. By day 3, it will get a little funky. Always best fresh!

Try using smoothies as snacks. Drink one mid-morning between breakfast & lunch. Then drink another one mid-afternoon between lunch & dinner. Not only will it curb your appetite, it will keep you energy level consistent & give your immune system a huge boost!

P.S. Don’t be afraid to start with just the fruit & some spinach. That’s a great starting point. Then, slowly over time, add another veggie & another one, until you eventually get up to this whole pitcher.
